”As she was approaching the building, one of the young men yelled to her – ‘If you are not here to vote for Obama, then go home, cause you are not voting here today’ and she turned and walked away. The pain that I felt because of the battle fought so African Americans could vote …and to see two African American young men deny the right and avail the threat of violence to a women who looked to be in her 80s and not allow her the opportunity to vote, I found it appalling.” This story is told by a Civil Rights Activist who had marched with Martin Luther King.
